The Franklin Lions Club is proud to host the Franklin on the Fourth Ice Cream Challenge in historic downtown Franklin, Tennessee. A lively, family-friendly contest filled with fun, friendly competition, and plenty of ice cream. Click here for details and registration.
In between events all day live patriotic music will be performed from the stage.
The children's parade free registration is available all day at the Lions Club booth on the square. Line up begins at 4:45 p.m. on 4th Avenue South.
READING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

Veterans Park (Williamson County Archives & Museum Grounds)
Presented by the Lt. Andrew Crockett Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), with participation from Old Glory Chapter, NSDAR, and the Williamson County Community Band.
The public is invited to begin Independence Day in Franklin with a patriotic Reading of the Declaration of Independence at Veterans Park before Franklin on the Fourth activities begin on the Public Square. Thirteen readers representing the original thirteen colonies will read portions of the Declaration of Independence as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The ceremony will also include:
• Presentation of the Colors
• Patriotic music by the Williamson County Community Band
• Colonial and Revolutionary War living history displays
• Colonial interpreters
• Family-friendly educational activities
