Marty Crum is a professional musician, sideman, teacher and bandleader. He has performed throughout the U.S.A. on guitar, electric bass and banjo in musical settings ranging from symphonic to bebop to bluegrass, and from concert halls, pit orchestras and festivals to radio, TV and recording. The players in the quartet can be heard everywhere ranging from the “Grand Ole Opry” to the Nashville Symphony. Great players, Great Music!
Joe Galbato is a Nashville singer/songwriter. His major influences come from Billy Joel, The Eagles, Dire Straits and others. The songs have a definite 70’s and 80’s vibe. His debut album, Dreams, was released in 2015. The second effort, One Night, was released in 2017. Both albums have enjoyed success on Spotify and iTunes. The third album, The Grand Farewell, features some of Nashville’s finest musicians – Denny Hemingson (lead guitar – Tim McGraw), Dwain Rowe (keys – Brooks and Dunn, Clint Black), Dow Tomlin (bass guitar – Wynonna), Peter Young (drums – Loretta Lynn) and many others. All will be performing with Joe at “Franklin on the Fourth”. The live shows take the album material to another level and this show will feature songs from all 3 albums.
The dance group includes three competitive teams divided by age group that participate in clogging competitions at the state and national level. Tommy Jackson, a Franklin native and co-owner of WAKM-AM, was just inducted into America’s Clogging Hall of Fame last month after over 40 years of contributing to the dance form by competing in numerous competitions over the years and training the next generation of dancers, many of which have ultimately gone on to become a part of the renowned Grand Ole Opry Square Dancers. Jackson’s dance team is self-funded, making its money for costumes and other expenses through paid appearances at various venues throughout the year, while dance lessons and practices are free.
John England & the Western Swingers are a six piece band based in Nashville, TN, which plays the lively, happy music called Western Swing. The group has played their lively music at Nashville's Robert's Western World every Monday since July of 2001. The Swingers can also boast of appearances at New York's Lincoln Center, the Grand Ole Opry, the Legends of Western Swing Festival, the "Midnight Jamboree", and many concerts and private events in the mid-South area. The band has also was a featured part of the Rockettes Christmas Show for 5 years.
From Hawaii to Alaska, Gale Mayes’ has been the signature alto background voice to more artists than there are states. Music is in her bones. Gale makes music come alive. She is a songwriter’s dream – lifting music from the written pages and translating it into sweet ear candy that attracts major recording artists crossing all musical genres. Gale has performed and recorded with/for Reba McEntire, Wynonna Judd, Emmylou Harris, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Aretha Franklin, Andrae Crouch, Buddy Miller, Solomon Burke, Michael McDonald, Toby Keith, Josh Turner, Mavis Staples, Bill Gaither, and so many other gospel, pop, and country artists. Her performance skills are as strong, captivating audiences that are as diverse as her repertoire. Gale has toured the world, but her Mississippi Delta roots keep her planted in Nashville and performing this year at “Franklin on the Fourth”
The chiildren's parade follows a talented group of 6 musicians that play authentic “Dixieland” music as they lead the parade, as they have done for over 10 years. After the parade, and stage presentations, the group will perform on the stage a selection of fun standards that will make everyone happy and enjoy the day. It’s hard to not smile when you’re hearing classics like, “When You’re Smilin” and you’re strolling along the square.
Wimberley Bluegrass Band is a group of siblings from Southern California who delight audiences of all ages with their passionate and distinct approach to bluegrass music. They were named one of Los Angeles’ top five bluegrass bands by CBS-LA and have performed in seven states. They've released six albums, most recently being "The Christmas Album" in 2022. In February 2015, their song “Hard Working Man” was featured in an episode of ABC’s nationally broadcasted sitcom “The Middle”, and the same year, Danielle and James were featured playing mandolins in a nationally-aired commercial for KFC featuring Darrell Hammond. Wimberley Bluegrass Band continues to bring their sensational high energy to stages all across the country, carefully weaving the perfect mixture of original music, traditional bluegrass fare, and oft remembered tunes thoughtfully re-crafted in the bluegrass genre. From the moment they take the stage, the tight family harmony and lightning quick picking breathes renewed life into the timeless old sounds of the fathers of bluegrass music.
